Brief Description
With the aim of improving youth activities and to develop the infrastructure of sport in Iraq, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Iraq decided to establish a sport league complex in the city of Baghdad. The project includes a football league stadium with a capacity of 15,600 seats, a multipurpose sport hall for other sport services including swimming, volleyball, basketball and futsal with an area of 7,000 square meters and a 4-star hotel with an area of 3,600square meters. This sport complexes belongs to one of the biggest football team of the local Iraqi league, called Zawra. The complex has been designed based on FIFA requirements for local matches.
Technical Specification
Zawra main stadium has a total area of 26,000 square meters and was designed in 4 levels including administration spaces. Zawra multi-purpose sport hall is designed in 3 levels. This sport hall consists of an entrance lobby, swimming pool, gym salon, other sports’ area and recreational and administrational spaces. The exterior continuous façade has been designed in modernist way which covers all buildings in the complex and forms a unique shape.
